Job summary

Pueblo City-County Library District is hiring a part-time Security Officer (20 hours/week) for multiple library locations, primarily based in Pueblo West. The role focuses on safety, policy enforcement, and courteous interaction with patrons.

The officer reports to the Manager of Security Services and works with the security team to uphold emergency protocols and confidential information handling. A Colorado driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of public-facing security experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service and a welcoming atmosphere for library customers and staff.
• Patrols library facilities to identify safety and security concerns.
• Explain library policies and use de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts.
• Provide courier services between library locations.
• Enforce PCCLD Code of Conduct and safety policies.
