Job summary

Alamance County Public Library (ACPL) seeks a dedicated full-time librarian supervisor to support Graham and Mebane libraries. The role ensures smooth daily operations, oversees part-time staff, and assists the Branch Manager with programs, training, and collections.

The position requires strong customer service, flexibility in scheduling, and ability to work with diverse patrons. Will rotate evenings and weekends with other staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of some college coursework required.
• 1-2 years of library, education, customer service, or related experience required.
• Flexibility in scheduling is required.
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication is required.
• Ability to work with individuals of diverse populations with respect and equitable service is required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the person in charge in the absence of the Branch Manager.
• Supervise all part-time employees and guide Circulation Department responsibilities.
• Assist Branch Manager with staff training and daily deposits; ensure cash handling procedures are followed.
• Prepare a weekly schedule and ensure smooth operations of service desks.
• Manage all meeting rooms using LibCal; plan and implement multiple programs monthly.
• Manage library displays monthly and distribute among staff.
• Oversee collection management and development.
• Perform supervisory duties including performance reviews and timesheet preparation.
• Assist in opening and closing the library following established procedures.
