Job summary

Alamance County Public Library seeks a full-time Library Assistant to support patrons with technology, reference questions, and reading services. The role involves serving diverse patrons and assisting with daily operations under the Branch Manager.

The best candidate will promote ACPL’s mission, provide friendly customer service, and help patrons with technology, databases, and reading resources in a welcoming environment. Evening/weekend rotation applies.

Qualifications

• Some college is required.
• Previous customer service experience is required.
• Flexibility in scheduling is required.
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication is required.
• Ability to work with individuals of diverse populations with respect and equitable service is required.

Responsibilities

• Promote ACPL’s values and mission.
• Follow library policies and procedures.
• Assist with maintaining library collections.
• Provide one-on-one technology assistance to patrons.
• Revise and update the safety data sheets binder.
• Plan, implement and evaluate programs focused on digital literacy.
• Assist patrons with reference interactions and use of online resources.
• Keep up with trends in adult services and libraries.
