Job summary

Rutherford County Library System (RCLS) seeks a Technology Support Specialist to manage library computers, the website, and social media, performing installs, maintenance, and minor repairs. You will support staff and patrons, handle on-call help desk duties, and train staff on new software and technologies across branches in Rutherford County.

Under the IT Manager, you will ensure network stability, perform diagnostics, and maintain records of hardware/software upgrades, with a schedule that

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or higher with 2 years tech experience or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of hardware, software, and related technology.
• Knowledge of computer networking concepts and applications.
• Strong communication and analytical/problem-solving skills; ability to develop staff procedures and reports.
• Valid Tennessee Driver’s License or ID.
• Flexible schedule including nights/weekends; full time or part-time non-exempt.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot the library's network hardware, software, peripherals, and office equipment.
• Maintain network and workstation stability, security, and performance.
• Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and backups.
• Keep records of hardware/software upgrades.
• Provide help desk support for staff and patrons.
• Train staff on new software and technologies.
• Attend meetings and serve on committees.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
