Qualifications

• Master's degree in an ALA-accredited library program or Librarian's Certificate.
• 3–5 years of professional public library experience; 1–2 years in admin/supervisory roles.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs and evaluates assigned staff and volunteers; handles performance and discipline.
• Coordinates work activities; prioritizes, assigns and monitors progress; provides technical guidance.
• Coordinates collection development; selects materials for purchase and processes them for the collection.
• Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, rules, and standards.
• Prepares reports, correspondence and procurement documents; assists with budgeting.
• Reviews software to improve day-to-day operations; troubleshoots hardware/software across locations.
• Participates in hiring full-time and part-time staff; conducts staff training.
• Assists patrons with information and instruction on catalogs, databases, and policy questions.
• Mentors staff and supports professional development; oversees programs and services.
• Serves as library manager in absence and handles other related duties.
