Job summary

Library Systems & Services, LLC is seeking a full-time Supervisor Librarian for the Manassas Park City Library in Manassas Park, VA. You will oversee the Circulation and Programming teams and collaborate with the Library Director on strategic planning.

The ideal candidate holds an MLS/MLIS, demonstrates strong customer service and staff supervision, and will manage finances and community engagement initiatives in a dynamic public library setting.

Qualifications

• ALA-Accredited MLS or MLIS degree required.
• Minimum of three years of public library experience.
• Bilingual ability preferred but not required.
• Experience tracking usage statistics and report preparation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of the library.
• Act as the Person In-Charge (PIC) in the absence of the Library Director.
• Manage Circulation and Programming teams (hiring, training, scheduling, staff development).
• Oversee account receivables and expenses (invoices, payments, etc.).
• Oversee collection maintenance, weeding, processing, and evaluating materials.
• Maintain the library’s website and social media accounts.
• Oversee the library’s volunteer program.
• Assist with monthly statistics, annual report, and state library report.
• Provide/assist administrative services and policy procedures reviews.
• Communicate procedures to staff and the public.
