Job summary

Manassas Park City Library in Manassas Park, Virginia, seeks a full-time Supervisor Librarian to lead the Circulation and Programming teams and support the Library Director in delivering excellent public library services.

Requirements include an ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS, at least three years of public library experience, and strong customer service, communication, and technical skills; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• ALA-Accredited MLS or MLIS degree required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of public library experience preferred.
• Bilingual ability preferred but not required.
• Experience tracking usage statistics, data collection, and report preparation.
• Accommodate a flexible schedule including weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent technical skills, including familiarity with Windows, Microsoft Suite, and knowledge of various technologies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide leadership for day-to-day operations of the library.
• Act as the Person In-Charge (PIC) in the absence of the Library Director.
• Manage Circulation and Programming teams including hiring, training, scheduling, and staff development.
• Oversee accounts receivable/expenses; payment of invoices, coding, and purchases.
