Job summary

The Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library is seeking a PT Library Customer Adviser for the 3 South Department / Virtual Information Center. This role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, assisting patrons in person and remotely, and supporting circulation, references, and technology help.

As a part-time position with 20 hours per week, duties include desk setup, materials handling, and collaboration with staff to connect patrons with information.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push carts up to 150 pounds.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Answers customer questions in person, on the phone, via email, text, chat, etc.
• Provides readers’ advisory and reference service, especially to remote customers.
• Shelves returned materials.
• Searches for requested materials.
• Participates in desk setup, reports, supply orders, and interagency requests.
• Maintains the collection and reads shelves to ensure correct order.
• Assists with meeting rooms and other duties as assigned.
