Job summary

Joliet Junior College invites applications for Specialist, Library Collection Management. Reporting to the Department Chair and Librarian, this full-time role focuses on technical services, copy cataloging, and acquisition to support the library's collection.

The position involves data entry, reporting, electronic resources integration, and catalog maintenance, with 40 hours weekly, union affiliation TOSSC-AFT Local 604, and a starting hourly wage range of $20.70–$21.94.

Qualifications

• LTA certificate or 3 years library technical services or collection management experience.
• Knowledge of current cataloging standards for print, non-print, and electronic resources.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work with a diverse population.
• Extensive PC skills with MS Office, email, and internet.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision; self-motivated.
• Cooperative relationships with college and community; cultural competence.

Responsibilities

• Assist library users professionally in person and online.
• Process materials and support cataloging and acquisitions.
• Prepare reports on status of ordered materials.
• Create and maintain bibliographic records and holdings.
• Integrate electronic resources into the ILS.
• Open/close the library and assist with inventory and declassification.
