Job summary

Greene County Public Library is seeking a Circulation Clerk in Fairborn to support daily library services at the Fairborn Community Library. The role involves checking materials in and out, handling fines, and assisting patrons with routine inquiries.

This part-time position requires strong customer service, computer proficiency, and the ability to multi-task in a busy public service environment. Training and ongoing staff development are provided.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of customer service preferred
• Experience with library circulation is a plus
• Ability to operate a computerized circulation system

Responsibilities

• Check out and check in materials using computerized system; collect fines and charges; enter renewals and reserves; register borrowers.
• Sort materials to be shelved including book-drop, delivery, returns.
• Handle incomplete or damaged items; oversee hold shelf; process paging lists and reports.
• Perform opening and closing procedures, including handling fine money.
• Process new materials and donations; process withdrawn materials.
• Repair and repack damaged items; assist patrons in finding books and materials.
• Attend trainings and meetings to maintain knowledge and participate in staff development.
