Job summary

Clermont County Public Library is seeking a Library Services and Outreach Assistant. This role focuses on fulfilling collection requests, shelf management, and assisting guests with library resources while supporting outreach events and system-wide initiatives.

The position is physical, with lifting and moving materials, and requires dependable, detail-oriented performance and professional guest service. 24 hours per week, with evening/weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; two years of relevant experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver book carts up to 200 pounds.
• Strong customer service and communications skills across diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves, processes, and fulfills collection requests with accuracy.
• Checks materials in/out; manages holds and item transit between branches.
• Sorts, shelves, and organizes materials using Dewey Decimal system.
• Assists guests in locating materials and provides Reader's Advisory.
• Monitors collection condition and assists with donations.
• Performs opening/closing procedures and basic financial reconciliation.
• Trains new staff on circulation and collection duties.
• Tracks and compiles relevant statistical data as assigned.
• Ensures facility safety and reports issues to management.
• Participates in outreach events and pop-up libraries.
