Job summary

City of Greenville is seeking a Circulation Technician to support library operations at the front desk. You will help patrons check materials in and out, shelve items, and maintain a welcoming environment.

Under direct supervision, you will assist with youth programs, displays, and outreach, coordinating with staff to promote library services and events. The role reports to the Circulation Services Supervisor and requires a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: No prior library experience required; customer service or public-facing experience preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: None required.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service at the circulation desk.
• Checks materials in and out using the library system.
• Shelves and organizes library materials.
• Assists with routine reference services by directing patrons to resources or staff.
• Supports collection maintenance activities, including basic processing and organization.
• Assists with outreach activities, programs, and youth events as assigned.
• Helps plan and support youth programs under staff guidance.
• Creates displays and promotes library services and programs.
• Maintains a clean, welcoming public service area.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
