Job summary

Library Systems & Services, LLC seeks a Branch Manager I to oversee day-to-day operations of a small library system under the Deputy Director, delivering exceptional patron service and ensuring procedures meet organizational standards.

You will lead a library staff, coordinate programming and outreach, manage promotions across print, social media and websites, and foster a welcoming, community‑focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MLIS preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience, preferably in a library or related public service environment.
• Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in library management and/or administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to speak, write, and listen clearly and professionally.
• Spanish language ability a plus.
• Demonstrates proficiency in using appropriate tools and techniques for effective communication.
• Willingness to be flexible in a changing work environment while maintaining performance and service.
• Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, partners, and community members.

Responsibilities

• Lead the library's programming and outreach team and coordinate regular team meetings.
• Propose and prioritize programming and outreach initiatives with Deputy Director approval.
• Develop and distribute programming/outreach schedules across platforms and teams.
• Oversee promotional efforts across print, social media, and website updates.
• Identify and implement strategies to improve library operations and create new service opportunities.
• Demonstrate strong customer service and respond to patron needs.
• Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to set goals and make informed decisions.
• Plan and advance the library’s strategic goals in alignment with the mission.
