Library Systems & Services is seeking a Branch Manager I to oversee day-to-day operations of a small library system. You will lead a dedicated staff, supervise public service delivery, and drive programming and outreach to engage the community.

The role emphasizes strong patron service, collaboration, and strategic planning in line with the library’s mission. The position requires a BA/BS, MLIS preferred, and at least three years of supervisory and management experience in a library or related

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required; MLIS or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of library management/administration experience, or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead programming and outreach team and conduct regular team meetings.
• Propose and prioritize programming/outreach initiatives for approval.
• Develop and distribute the programming/outreach schedule across platforms.
• Oversee promotional efforts (print, social media, website).
• Identify strategies to improve library operations and service opportunities.
• Provide strong customer service and address patron needs within policy.
• Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to set goals and make decisions.
• Assess situations and make timely decisions in line with mission.
• Develop strategies to advance library goals and evaluate progress.
• Analyze trends to align with mission, vision, and values.
• Partner with Deputy Director to support strategic plan execution.
• Ensure compliance with patron privacy and records handling.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
