Job summary

Library Systems & Services is seeking a Branch Manager I to oversee day-to-day operations of a small library system under the direction of the Deputy Director. The role emphasizes strong leadership and a dedication to exceptional patron service within a welcoming, community-centered environment.

The Branch Manager will lead a team of library staff, ensure efficient execution of procedures, and drive programming and outreach that aligns with organizational standards and strategic plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required; MLIS preferred.
• Minimum of three years of supervisory experience.
• Minimum of three years of library management or administration experience.
• Ability to speak, write, and listen in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
• Spanish-language ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the library's programming and outreach team and facilitate regular team meetings.
• Propose and prioritize programming and outreach initiatives for approval by the Deputy Director.
• Develop and distribute the programming and outreach schedule across platforms and teams.
• Oversee and coordinate promotional efforts across print, social media, and website updates.
• Identify and implement strategies to improve library operations and create new service opportunities.
• Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to set goals, solve problems, and make decisions.
