Job summary

The Greensboro Public Library is seeking a Library Associate to deliver exceptional customer service at the public service desk. You will assist patrons, guide use of print and digital resources, and support readers' advisory services while building welcoming experiences across eight library locations.

This non-exempt role requires tech savvy, familiarity with MS Office, and ability to work a rotating schedule including weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 1–3 years of customer service experience in a public library or retail environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Experience using cash registers, copiers, and printers.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons at the public service desk and provide reference support.
• Engage with colleagues to support library services and programming.
• Shelving, maintaining, and processing library materials; assist with collection development when needed.
• Open/close duties and rotate with other staff to cover branch hours.
