Job summary

Publix Super Markets in Lakeland, FL seeks a Liability Legal Coordinator to manage discovery in General Liability and Fleet lawsuits, coordinate with outside defense counsel, and assist in controlling legal costs. The role supports risk management and requires effective communication within internal teams and with external partners.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of litigation paralegal experience in a corporate, government, or law firm setting.
• Knowledge of state court systems Publix operates in (FL, GA, AL, SC, NC, VA, TN, KY).
• Familiarity with process service timetables and court procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage responses to discovery in General Liability and Fleet lawsuits.
• Serve as liaison between internal departments and outside defense counsel.
• Review discovery materials for handling of confidential information.
• Assist with court-ordered info requests and document production with expedited turnarounds.
• Prepare Publix associates for depositions, hearings, mediations, or other proceedings.
• Assist with property damage subrogation matters and small claims processes.
• Analyze claim information to identify risks and communicate findings to attorneys.
• Coordinate document collection, holds, and preservation with Litigation Support.
• Participate in special projects and process improvements in claims and legal ops.
• Perform other duties to support Risk Management and Liability operations.
