Job summary

CyrusOne is seeking a Critical Environments Operator in Houston, TX to join a 24/7/365 Operations & Maintenance team. You will monitor electrical, mechanical, and HVAC/R systems, respond to alarms, and execute PMs while upholding safety and service standards.

Qualifications

• This Level IV posting requires 7+ years of relevant experience with journeyman or master level expertise.
• Active HVAC certification or Journeyman/Master Electrician license preferred.
• Proven ability to lead operational activities and mentor junior operators.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate data center mechanical, electrical, and HVAC/R systems to ensure uptime and reliability.
• Respond to building system alarms, prioritizing critical load protection and root-cause analysis.
• Execute Preventive Maintenance work orders and follow SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and MMRs as appropriate.
• Use a CMMS to track work orders, labor hours, and PMs.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors; enforce Lockout/Tagout and safety protocols.
• Perform equipment and system operational modifications, including switching and safe area setup.
• Maintain awareness of and compliance with all company, government, and client policies and EHS requirements.
• At senior levels: mentor junior operators, lead critical switching events, and participate in capacity planning and reporting.
