Job description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Legal Recruiter with a proven track record of identifying and placing partner-level attorneys who possess portable books of business exceeding $1 million and bill rates over $1,500/hour. The ideal candidate will have deep industry knowledge, a robust network within the legal sector, and a strong understanding of law firm dynamics and compensation structures.

Practice areas we are sourcing candidates for are: Antitrust, Business Restructuring, Corporate & Transactional, Crisis Management, Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation, Employment, Global Privacy & Cybersecurity, Global White-Collar & Government Investigations, Government & Lobbying Strategies, Government Contracts, Intellectual Property, International Trade, Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Private Client & Wealth Management, Real Estate, Strategic Solutions, Sustainability, Impact & ESG, Tax, Venture, PE, Funds

Client office locations:

USA - Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, LA, Miami, Nashville, NYC, Orange County, SF, Silicon Valley, Washington DC, Wilmington DE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively source, qualify, and recruit senior-level attorneys and law firm partners with $1M+ portable business.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with managing partners, firm administrators, and legal professionals across Am Law 200, boutique, and regional law firms.
  • Conduct in-depth candidate assessments to verify practice fit, revenue generation, and cultural alignment with client firms.
  • Advise both clients and candidates on market trends, compensation expectations, and strategic growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing and research teams to develop targeted campaigns and talent pipelines.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM and applicant tracking systems.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with all relevant legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal recruiting, with a focus on partner-level placements.
  • Proven success in sourcing candidates with verifiable books of business of $1M+.
  • Strong understanding of law firm economics, lateral integration processes, and legal market trends.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and client service orientation.
  • Existing network of law firm partners and decision-makers is a significant plus.
