Job summary

Jericho Road Community Health Center is seeking a Legal Intake Specialist to join the VIVE Department in Buffalo. The role is full-time and focuses on screening inquiries, coordinating client referrals, and creating profiles in MEDENT to ensure accurate documentation for enrolled clients.

You will schedule legal services, support clinics, handle receipts and petty cash, and work autonomously while representing the organization in a professional manner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• Bilingual abilities such as Spanish or French are a strong asset.
• Experience with phone- and in-person customer service.
• Ability to work independently and seek direction when needed.

Responsibilities

• Screen legal inquiries and route referrals appropriately.
• Create profiles and enter documentation for enrolled clients in MEDENT.
• Coordinate client files and scheduling in MEDENT.
• Coordinate legal service schedule for clients, staff, and partners.
• Participate in legal clinics as needed.
• Coordinate border and immigration-related services per client needs.
• Maintain professional conduct in all actions and communications.
• Receive and route messages or documents to staff or clients.
• Track client statistics and coordinate with program data staff.
• Manage petty cash and discretionary purchasing for the department.
• Assist the Legal Services Manager with daily tasks or special projects.
• Operate office equipment and standard software to prepare reports and records.
• Function autonomously and know when to seek direction.
