Job summary

Opensity Solutions seeks a Billing Operations Manager in Phoenix to oversee billing support services and guide service teams through the legal billing cycle. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will ensure accurate compliance and drive efficient processes.

You will manage policies, train staff, and provide expert knowledge to billing employees while coordinating with attorneys and client contacts to deliver high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in finance, accounting, or legal studies.
• 5–7 years of experience in legal billing.
• Aderant or similar billing platform experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Basic understanding of collection practices and laws.
• Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills.
• Able to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple assignments.
• Maintain confidential information.
• Make objective, independent judgments.
• Excel under pressure and deliver quality work product.
• Communicate with varying levels of people within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures for timely, accurate legal billing.
• Ensure billing narratives meet firm, client, and attorney guidelines.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies and errors in the billing process.
• Act as liaison with key client contacts.
• Produce accurate, regular reporting on metrics.
• Oversee entire legal billing process for service teams.
• Collaborate with attorneys, secretarial staff, and admin departments within client firms.
• Provide quality control on complex billing issues.
• Coach and develop staff, providing feedback and performance recognition.
