Job summary

Henderson Group seeks an experienced Billing Manager for its Chicago area offices. The role focuses on hands-on legal billing with leadership duties, including training and troubleshooting the Aderant workflow.

The position supports on-site work during training with possible hybrid or remote options for highly qualified candidates. Key tasks include preparing and reviewing client bills, managing electronic billing (BillBlast, LEDES 1998B), and resolving discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Experience in legal billing with hands-on Aderant proficiency.
• At least 2–3 years of Aderant experience preferred.
• Experience with eBilling, BillBlast, and LEDES 1998B files.
• Prior billing management or team-leading experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned legal billing work accurately and independently.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and support to billing team members.
• Train colleagues on Aderant and resolve billing workflow questions.
• Prepare, review, and process client bills according to requirements.
• Support electronic billing, including BillBlast and LEDES 1998B.
• Identify and resolve billing discrepancies and rejected invoices.
• Coordinate with attorneys, accounting staff, and internal stakeholders to complete billing on time.
• Strengthen billing processes following the Aderant implementation.
