Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking a Billing Manager in Chicago to lead the firm’s legal billing function after implementing Aderant. The role combines hands-on billing with team guidance, troubleshooting, and staff training to ensure accurate, timely client invoicing.

The ideal candidate has strong Aderant experience, billing-management capabilities, and attention to detail. Onsite training is preferred, with potential hybrid flexibility for the right candidate, including remote options for strong

Qualifications

• Legal billing experience with hands-on Aderant proficiency.
• 2–3 years of Aderant experience preferred.
• Experience with eBilling, BillBlast, and LEDES 1998B.
• Prior billing management experience preferred; supervisory or team‑lead experience will also be considered.
• Ability to contribute immediately, troubleshoot issues, and train others.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned legal billing work accurately and independently.
• Provide day‑to‑day guidance and support to billing team members.
• Help train colleagues on Aderant and resolve billing workflow questions.
• Prepare, review, and process client bills in accordance with client billing requirements.
• Support electronic billing, including BillBlast and LEDES 1998B files.
• Identify and resolve billing discrepancies, electronic submission issues, and rejected invoices.
• Coordinate with attorneys, accounting staff, and other internal stakeholders to complete billing accurately and on time.
• Help the team strengthen billing processes following the Aderant implementation.
