Overview:

We are seeking a Patent Legal Administrative Assistant to work in our Intellectual Property group. We are looking for an individual with previous patent experience who will provide legal administrative support for Attorneys and Paralegals with a specialization in patents.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Manages and maintains legal documents, databases, and electronic records and files, and filing documents with the Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Reviews and tracks dates on Intellectual Property Docket system to meet deadlines and follow up on important filings, court dates and correspondence.
  • Monitors intake of new matters and coordinate billing.
  • Schedules and coordinates meetings, responsible for ensuring all necessary arrangements are made for in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Provides administrative support and assistance by routing mail, screening calls, and performing various clerical duties.
  • Assisting in supporting business development.
  • Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Three plus years of legal patent experience;
  • Exceptional organizational abilities, initiative, attention to detail, an ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships, and an interest in becoming an integral part in practice management;
  • Self-motivation; a positive, professional, can-do attitude and approach; and the desire to think creatively and get things done effectively and efficiently;
  • Advanced technical skills in Microsoft 2010 Suite and the willingness to learn new and evolving systems and applications.
