Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Leave of Absence Analyst to oversee and administer leave requests and accommodations such as FMLA, ADA, state and local laws, and disability plans. The role focuses on compliance, documentation, and coordination with HR and managers to ensure smooth return-to-work processes.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of LOA experience, a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, and knowledge of union employee relations, with SHRM certification preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Leave of Absence experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
• Experience with Union employees.
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
• Completion of specialized training on FMLA/leave administration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and track employee leave information using ADP and prepare reporting metrics.
• Oversee FMLA leave administration from initial notice through return to work.
• Communicate with employees regarding their leave responsibilities and necessary documentation.
• Collaborate with HR and managers to determine leave eligibility and support operational improvements.
• Advise on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off and disability benefits.
• Facilitate the return-to-work process for employees after extended leave.
• Maintain compliance with legal requirements and ensure confidentiality of medical documentation.
• Provide training and guidance to LOA Specialists and educate stakeholders on leave policies.
