Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions in Los Angeles seeks an experienced Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist to join the HR team on a 2–3 month contract with extension potential. You will manage the full leave administration process for employees and managers, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of LOA experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with HRIS and leave management systems, supporting a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience administering leave of absence programs.
• Strong knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, ADA, PDL, workers' compensation, and California leave regulations.
• Experience with HRIS and leave management systems.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage a high volume of cases.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, CFRA, ADA accommodations, pregnancy disability leave, workers' compensation, and other state and federal leave programs.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, managers, and HR partners regarding leave-related questions and processes.
• Review leave requests, determine eligibility, and provide required documentation and notices.
• Track and maintain leave records, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
• Coordinate with third-party leave administrators, payroll, benefits, and management teams as needed.
• Monitor leave timelines and communicate return-to-work expectations and requirements.
• Support interactive process discussions and reasonable accommodation requests.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and documentation.
• Assist with audits, reporting, and leave-related projects as needed.
