Job summary

Chesapeake Pointe in Portsmouth, VA is seeking a Leasing Associate to maximize occupancy by screening prospects, conducting property tours, and coordinating move-ins. You will implement on-site marketing, develop referral programs, support lease renewals, and ensure high-quality resident service while adhering to Fair Housing rules.

This role requires strong English communication, a valid driver's license, weekend availability, and the ability to walk units and stairs; prior leasing experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college preferred.
• Must obtain real estate license within 120 days of hire.
• Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written.
• Able to walk apartments and grounds, including stairs.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Available to work weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct leasing activities, respond to inquiries, provide tours, and coordinate move-ins.
• Develop on-site marketing and referral programs for move-ins and resident retention.
• Maintain and improve merchant/neighborhood referral programs for move-ins and newsletters.
• Initiate sales outreach plans including new development and community management communications.
• Recommend programs and strategies to increase qualified traffic and closing ratios.
• Attend weekly marketing meetings.
• Maintain leasing office and property appearance standards.
