Job summary

Harbor Group Management is seeking a Leasing Specialist to drive occupancy at a multifamily community. You will show available apartments, process applications, run background checks, and coordinate marketing to attract residents.

You will support the Property Manager, maintain lease documentation, and ensure move-in readiness while providing excellent customer service and timely responses to inquiries.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to assist residents and show apartments with a customer-service focus.
• Experience with rental applications, background and credit checks, and lease documents.
• Familiarity with property management software (Yardi/OneSite) and office tools.
• Ability to balance marketing initiatives with occupancy goals.

Responsibilities

• Greet prospective residents, conduct property tours, and showcase apartments.
• Qualify leads and process rental applications; run background/credit checks.
• Ensure units are move-in ready and coordinate with maintenance.
• Execute leases and move-in packages; support onboarding.
• Design and implement short- and long-term marketing plans to drive traffic.
• Promote the community via Craigslist, Facebook, and email campaigns.
• Coordinate referrals, employer outreach, and local networking.
• Maintain knowledge of market conditions, competitors, and rental rates.
• Support retention with excellent customer service and timely responses.
• Follow up with prospects and new residents to ensure satisfaction.
• Assist with renewals by preparing documents and finalizing extensions.
• Keep records in property management software; update guest cards.
• Assist with rent collection and delinquent accounts, and support admin tasks.
• Ensure leasing office and tour path meet show standards.
