Job summary

Fairlawn is seeking a Leasing and Resident Services Specialist to join The Fairway in West Lafayette, IN. You will act as a leasing agent, tour expert, and primary contact for prospective residents, guiding them to their ideal home while promoting amenities.

In this fast-paced role, you will handle applications, coordinate move-ins, respond to inquiries across phone, email, and text, and ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of customer service, hospitality, retail, or sales experience.
• At least 1 year of office administration or data entry experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Must obtain Illinois Residential Leasing Agent License within 1 year (Illinois properties only) if applicable.
• Must hold an active driver’s license with 2 years of driving history and pass MVR requirements.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, AppFolio, Outlook; aptitude for learning new software.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate superior attention to detail, high energy, and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Serve as leasing agent and tour expert with knowledge of properties and amenities.
• Show properties and sell features to prospective tenants.
• Review lease applications and document eligibility requirements.
• Assist in daily operations: inquiries, notices, communications, showings, screenings, and applications.
• Provide exceptional customer service across phone, email, and text to maintain resident relations.
• Prepare move-in paperwork, ensure units are move-in ready, conduct inspections and orientations.
• Maintain rapport with current and prospective tenants.
• Process maintenance requests and follow up on completion.
• Learn and comply with Fair Housing Laws with provided training.
• Be flexible and willing to jump in wherever needed.
