Job summary

Cable One is seeking a detail‑oriented Lease Accountant to manage ASC 842 lease accounting, schedules, and related analyses in a remote-friendly role. You will work with finance teammates across the organization, maintaining schedules, validating balance sheet items, and supporting internal/external audits.

Your background in general ledger accounting and knowledge of lease accounting standards will help you drive accurate reporting and continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting with at least one year of practical general ledger accounting experience.
• Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains lease accounting schedules in accordance with ASC 842.
• Develops detailed understanding of the end-to-end process of lease accounting, including related stakeholders, systems, accounting processes, and internal controls that support internal and external reporting.
• Proactively works on preparing weekly/monthly/quarterly analyses and related journal entries in support of lease accounting.
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts; Investigates and resolves variances on a timely basis.
• Supports assigned internal and external audit activities, including SOX compliance.
• Completes special projects and analyses as requested by department leadership.
• Proactively seeks to keep abreast of accounting, reporting and disclosure standards promulgated by the FASB, SEC and PCAOB that affect internal accounting and reporting practices. Provides sound analysis and supports the impact of changes.
