Job summary

Ombudsman Educational Services, part of ChanceLight, seeks a Learning Lab Manager for Grades 9-12 in the computer labs. You will guide students toward academic growth, track credit recovery, attendance, ISP compliance, and schedules while maintaining a safe, engaging environment that supports technology-enabled learning.

You will lead lab activities, coordinate with staff, and ensure compliant documentation and timely reporting for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL state professional educator (PEL) or substitute teaching credential.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certification in crisis management training.
• Prior experience working with at risk youth, preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting.
• Prior experience and/or knowledge in alternative educational services for students with diverse needs at various levels.

Responsibilities

• Manage and ensure the success of students in Grades 9-12 in computer labs.
• Track data points such as credit recovery, attendance, ISP compliance, and student schedules.
• Prepare and maintain computer labs for safe and efficient operation.
• Create an inclusive lab atmosphere that supports student learning.
• Instruct and monitor students using academic platforms to ensure alignment with instructional goals.
• Assign academic courses within online platforms based on student needs and graduation goals.
• Engage in center-wide meetings, conferences, and collaborative planning.
• Communicate regularly with students, families, supervisors, and colleagues regarding performance and support strategies.
• Participate in assurance and accreditation efforts to meet performance benchmarks.
