Job summary

Carastar Health in Montgomery, Alabama seeks a Learning and Development Coordinator to lead the Workforce Development Academy and oversee employee learning from orientation through ongoing professional development. You will design a structured learning framework, coordinate orientation, and partner with HR, clinical training, IT, and compliance teams to deliver timely, role-appropriate training.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, at least three years in employee training or HR, LMS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HRM, Business, Education, or related field.
• Minimum of three years in employee training, workforce development, HR, or related field.
• Experience designing and facilitating instructor-led, virtual, or blended learning.
• Experience administering a Learning Management System (LMS).
• Professional certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, CPTD, ATD preferred.
• Must secure and maintain CPR/First Aid, CPI certifications as applicable.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to insurer.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, administer, and improve the Workforce Development Academy.
• Lead core new-hire orientation program covering culture, policies, benefits, and onboarding.
• Develop standardized curricula, facilitator guides, and training materials.
• Coordinate with HR and department leaders to transition employees to role-specific academies.
• Track onboarding milestones and escalate overdue training when needed.
• Develop and facilitate instructor-led, virtual, blended, and self-directed training.
• Maintain annual training plans aligned with priorities and regulatory requirements.
• Create dashboards and reports on training completion and compliance.
