Job summary

The Northeast Campus Learning Commons at Tarrant County College seeks a Part-time Specialist I to deliver front-line student services, assist with clerical tasks, and support library and learning lab operations.

You will work primarily at the NE Campus Learning Commons, providing tutoring, resource guidance, equipment checkout, and collaboration with faculty to support student success. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and one year of working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements.
  • Preferred: college education beyond the minimum requirements, English degree, and tutoring/teaching experience in English or writing.
  • Current CRLA training at level 1 or greater or similar tutor certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a resource to students, faculty, staff, and community to enhance learning and engagement.
  • Oversees front desk operations, scheduling, and communications.
  • Provides tutoring and academic coaching to students in collaboration with faculty and supervisor.
  • Assists with maker space and library technology and equipment management.
  • Delivers workshops and partners with faculty for events supporting classes.
