Job summary

Johnson Controls International plc. is seeking a production/inspection associate to support product quality by testing at multiple stages, recording data, and verifying specifications.

The role requires basic reading of safety rules and operating manuals, plus reliable interpretation of measurements. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years in inspection or production, strong organizational skills, and clear written and verbal communication to document

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with two years of inspection/production experience preferred.
• Ability to organize work and meet deadlines.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process and compiles statistical data.
• Uses gauges and other devices to verify conformity to standards of product.
• Exercises independent judgment in resolving product issues and solicits support when necessary.
• Maintains a high competency level of all product lines and product testing procedures.
• Provides leadership and problem‑solving assistance to inspectors.
• Accepts frequent supervision and assistance with regard to responsibilities.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required with two years of inspection/production experience preferred.
• Ability to organize work and meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Basic arithmetic skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a noisy, dusty, industrial/manufacturing environment and be exposed to non‑toxic fumes, chemicals, grease, and oils.
• Ability to work with machinery and moving parts, vehicles, ladders, and scaffolding.
• Ability to work at heights.
• Ability to properly lift, carry, push, pull, manipulate, and transport up to 15 lbs, occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, and frequently lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to work in a non‑climate controlled environment.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions and pressing activities involving fingers, hands, and wrists.
• Physical exertion required, such as long periods of standing or walking over hard concrete surface.
• Exposure to recurring bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, sitting, climbing, stretching, or similar activities.
• Ability to reach at high levels.
• Must read, write, speak, and communicate in English.
• Must be able to work more than 40 hours weekly and perform tasks safely when operating all job necessary equipment, including moving vehicles.
• Individuals under the influence of illegal drugs, alcohol, or prescription medication that warns against operating machinery or driving a vehicle shall not be considered capable of operating necessary equipment safely.
