Harder Mechanical Contractors Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to plan, schedule, and execute project scopes, coordinating with field labor to meet safety, schedule, and quality standards.

This entry-level role serves as the gateway to a project management career within a growth‑oriented firm. You will review drawings, resolve issues with design teams and owners, monitor field work, and assist the project manager while developing estimates and critical documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field.
• 3–10 years of construction management experience.
• Experience reading mechanical and plumbing drawings.
• Ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders (designers, owners, suppliers).
• Self-starter with initiative; organized and productive.
• Strong time management and prioritization.
• Commitment to teamwork and client satisfaction.
• Interest in LEAN construction principles.
• Ability to travel to other regions for exposure.
• Must have a valid driver license and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Review project drawings and define scope and quantities.
• Coordinate with field labor to ensure safety and schedule adherence.
• Monitor construction progress against plans and specs.
• Engage in work sequence planning and risk mitigation.
• Prepare and monitor work packages with labor and cost estimates.
• Track progress and update status weekly.
• Organize project records in a document control system.
• Mentor new engineers and support their development.
• Assist the project manager with additional duties.
• Estimate future work and resource needs.
