Job summary

PPC Flex Company in Springfield, IL is seeking a Lean Process Engineer to drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes. You will study methods, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and champion waste reduction through Lean principles and CAPA processes.

In the absence of this role, coverage may come from Plant Engineer/Plant Manager. The successful candidate will lead Kaizen events, utilize DOE to optimize machine setup parameters, and train teams in Kanban, Value Stream

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing, preferably in packaging.
• Green Belt Certification (Lean Six Sigma) OR process engineering background.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Lean green belt certification; black belt preferred.

Responsibilities

• Improve manufacturing processes using Lean principles plant-wide.
• Lead Lean initiatives and Kaizen events to cut waste.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production to optimize PM and machine uptime.
• Develop SOPs for standard setup parameters via DOE.
• Analyze workflow, space, and equipment layout for efficiency.
• Champion CAPA-driven quality improvements.
• Train staff in Lean techniques and continuous improvement.
• Ensure changes comply with procedures and quality standards.
