Charter Casting is seeking a Process Engineer to drive safety, quality, yield, and throughput improvements on manufacturing processes in Woodstock, IL. This onsite role requires hands-on leadership, floor support, and collaboration with engineering to implement new components and equipment.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background, 1+ year manufacturing experience, and strong problem-solving skills with lean methods such as Kaizen and 6σ. Comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 1+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge with Kaizen, 5S and 6σ.
• SPC, PFMEA, process control plans and routings knowledge.
• Basic 3D CAD skills and strong communication.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and justify investment in new equipment.
• Lead continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
• Provide floor-level technical support and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with Product Engineering on process planning.
• Write appropriations requests and manage capital projects.
• Drive variation reduction using Process Control methods.
• Define and document SOPs for new/modified processes.
• Track key operational metrics and ensure EHS compliance.
