Job summary

Lightera is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment in Norcross, GA. You will ensure on-time delivery, maintain quality, and foster a safe, performance-driven work culture.

Ideal candidates hold a engineering/manufacturing degree with 3+ years in leadership, plus Lean/Six Sigma credentials. You will manage scheduling, training needs, and work with maintenance, QA, and engineering to meet plant goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or manufacturing management strongly encouraged.
• 3+ years in manufacturing leadership in progressive roles; 5+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• Six-sigma Green/Black Belt and Lean Certification a plus.
• Knowledge of Fiber Optic Industry desirable.
• Critical thinking, problem solving, and problem resolution skills.
• SAP Experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office Excel, Word and Power Point; acute ability to understand and use data for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Schedule personnel to maximize daily labor costs per production scheduling requirements.
• Overtime planning and PTO scheduling; plan training needs.
• Ensure scheduled machines operate efficiently within guidelines.
• Meet KPI targets including scrap/remake, safety, FPY, OEE, OTD.
• Complete TPM, 6S audits and standard work on schedule.
• Maintain rigor, fairness, and discipline; enforce policies.
• Coordinate with Supervisors, Planning, Procurement, Process Engineering, Maintenance and Quality to meet production demands and TL9000/ISO compliance.
• Communicate issues to Leads and shift Associates; participate in daily shift meetings.
• Ensure equipment is operational; assign trained personnel and manage staffing accordingly.
• Lead root-cause analysis using 8-Step and 5-Whys; document corrective actions.
