Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead a manufacturing team responsible for fastener production. You will supervise direct labor, manage resources, and ensure schedules meet customer requirements while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of technical manufacturing experience in a fast-paced setting.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Working knowledge of ERP software; AS400/Mapics preferred.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills; proficient with fractions, percentages, ratios.
• Ability to work under deadline pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules and wear PPE; maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Lead a team, hire/train, set expectations, and manage performance.
• Update management boards and communicate dispatch, capacity, and projections daily.
• Schedule jobs to maximize machine and operator efficiency; report capacity constraints.
• Achieve daily metrics on ESH, productivity, scrap, dock, and sales.
• Monitor spending daily with the Flex tool and manage cost reduction projects.
• Maintain staffing levels to meet performance budgets.
• Implement lean methods (6S, flow, visual organization).
• Ensure manufacturing documents procedures are followed.
• Monitor scrap, yield and part efficiencies; perform quality checks on runs.
• Hold weekly employee meetings; communicate status and future plans.
• Ensure machinery maintenance and spare parts availability.
• Procure tooling and supplies prior to router release; reduce setup time.
• Train personnel in production tasks, safety, teamwork, and lean principles.
• Resolve technical and administrative problems.
