Job summary

Atkore International in Hobart, Indiana is seeking an Operations Engineer to standardize procedures, define production rates, and ensure BOMs and routings accuracy. The role focuses on improving efficiency, uptime and cost through lean initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings a BS in engineering, 3+ years in manufacturing, and experience with lean methods; JD Edwards is a plus. This on-site role supports continuous improvement across the Hobart facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (required).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience with JD Edwards a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee continuous improvement projects as a Project Leader or Facilitator, driving improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
• Define standard procedures and operating variables across Hobart’s manufacturing processes; engineer solutions and implement standard work instructions.
• Review downtime and rate data; use lean tools to drive improvement and optimize production.
• Time studies, review of rates, and standard changes (BOMs and Routings).
• Develop and execute Capital Expenditure Requests per facility leadership direction.
• Manage site productivity improvement projects and ideation.
• Own routings and routing accuracy in JDE and legacy systems.
