Job summary

Atkore International in Hobart, Indiana, seeks an Automation Engineer to support manufacturing and continuous improvement of automation methods. You will develop solutions for production problems, design automation and SCADA systems, and advance process controls.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical Engineering and 1–3 years in process/manufacturing engineering within an industrial setting; experience in steel roll forming is highly valued. Lean background preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
1–3 years of Process/Manufacturing Engineering experience in an industrial environment.
Experience with Rockwell PLC programming and AutoCAD layouts.
Experience with SCADA systems (Wonderware preferred).

Responsibilities

Lead productivity improvements and best practices in the plant.
Manage projects as Project Leader with schedules and documentation.
Support Lean Manufacturing and process improvements.
Provide bid/ costing details on electrical projects and track progress with Gantt charts.
Draw schematics and documentation for trades and develop troubleshooting guidelines.
Implement and expand SCADA systems.
Participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
Maintain plant electrical infrastructure and safety codes.
Provide troubleshooting direction to E-Techs and electricians.
Suggest methods and layouts to fit manufacturing needs.
