Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers and technicians responsible for tools, controls, equipment, and processes to support HVAC fabrication and assembly. This role emphasizes team development and Lean leadership.

You will partner with Operations, Quality, NPI, and other functions to drive continuous improvement, capital planning, and labor standards, delivering CI savings and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering; Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial preferred.
• 8+ years in manufacturing/production ops or manufacturing engineering, with 5+ years supervisory/management experience.
• Proven project management track record and high performance in prior roles.
• Experience with cost estimating, project management, contract negotiations and vendor interaction.
• Strong knowledge of Lean layouts and flow using Six Sigma and Lean principles.
• Experience with manufacturing process improvement and production tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead Manufacturing Engineering team to design and develop tools, controls, equipment, and processes for HVAC fabrication and assembly.
• Drive Lean improvements, workstream consolidation layouts, and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Manage capital planning, budgets, labor standards, and labor costing.
• Recruit, coach, and develop organizational talent; foster a diverse, entrepreneurial environment.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, NPI, and Continuous Improvement teams to achieve CI goals.
