Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead quality excellence across sheet metal and coil manufacturing operations, ensuring products meet customer requirements while aligning with safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.

You will analyze quality performance data, drive root-cause investigations, implement corrective actions, and collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to raise process capability and supplier quality.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
1+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably low-volume/high-mix production.
Knowledge of quality systems and standards, such as ISO 9001 requirements.
Experience with quality methodologies including APQP, FMEA, CAPA, NCR, deviation management, and structured problem solving.
Experience conducting root cause analysis and cross-functional corrective action.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes for AHU fabrication and assembly operations.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure products meet dimensional and quality standards.
Perform first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections of sheet metal components and/or coil assemblies.
Utilize precision measurement equipment to verify product conformance.
Investigate nonconforming material and coordinate corrective actions.
Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain to improve quality and process performance.
Create and maintain inspection plans, control plans, work instructions, and quality documentation.
Monitor production quality metrics and analyze trends for continuous improvement.
Support supplier quality activities, including supplier evaluations, audits, and corrective action follow-up.
Conduct internal audits and support customer and third-party audits to ensure ISO/QMS compliance.
Apply quality tools such as A3 PST, 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, SPC, PFMEA, and MSA.
