Job summary

Lamsco West, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to provide direct technical and engineering support on the production floor, collaborating with Supervisors, quality, and engineering teams to keep processes lean, safe, and cost-effective.

The role will identify production constraints, analyze inefficiencies, and implement improvements to increase productivity, optimize resources, and reduce costs while focusing on Lean principles and measurable financial results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Identify, implement, and validate annualized financial benefits equivalent to at least three times the employee's annual base salary through verified cost reductions, productivity improvements.
• Provide daily engineering and technical support to production personnel to ensure processes operate efficiently.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Supervisor to identify and resolve production issues, improve workflow, and minimize downtime.
• Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
• Design, develop, and implement tools, fixtures, and jigs to support manufacturing operations.
• Coordinate with machine operators and production personnel to identify and eliminate manufacturing problems and implement corrective actions.
• Review drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions to ensure proper methods.
• Evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements to reduce cycle times and costs.
• Conduct time studies and evaluate machine cycle times to establish accurate standards.
• Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap and increase efficiency.
• Assist in identifying bottlenecks and developing solutions to improve material flow and output.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, process flow charts, and process drawings.
• Evaluate equipment and tooling to recommend improvements or modifications.
• Provide technical guidance and training to production personnel.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Planning, Quality, and Production to support requirements and schedules.
• Support implementation of new products, processes, and methods on the floor.
• Ensure processes comply with procedures, customer specs, safety, and quality standards.
• Communicate manufacturing concerns and improvements to the Supervisor promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
