Job summary

PLP is seeking a manufacturing engineer to assist in developing specifications and tooling for lean manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with technical staff to design or procure fixtures and equipment, conduct kaizen events, and implement lean strategies to reduce waste and improve setup times.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Manufacturing Engineering or related field with 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, plus proficiency with ProE and AutoCAD; PLC knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline with three to five years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience with lean manufacturing practices and value stream analysis.
• Ability to develop and implement process improvements and fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Develop value stream strategies for modified or new machines and tooling.
• Conduct kaizen activities to optimize workforce utilization and layout for efficiency.
• Develop and implement lean strategies, reduce setup time, and track results.
• Plan use of tools, machines, and fixtures and document processes.
• Test machine capabilities and resolve malfunctions with establishment personnel.
• Provide manufacturing documentation, setup definitions, and procedures.
