Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Holland, MI is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes that meet product specs and quality standards. You will recommend improvements, coordinate launches for new or revised products, and drive lean initiatives.

The role emphasizes process optimization, problem solving, and cross-functional teamwork. You’ll design equipment layouts, cost-justify tooling, and support training while maintaining safety and ownership

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in Engineering or equivalent
• Automated assembly experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes required
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
• Experience with cost reduction and productivity improvements
• Ability to design and justify tooling and equipment

Responsibilities

• Research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and equipment.
• Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
• Coordinate manufacturing launches for new or revised products, including goals, training and evaluation.
• Design, develop, test or source tools and equipment for manufacturing methods.
• Create and maintain job elements sheets and standard work sheets.
• Analyze product/process for cost reduction, quality and efficiency improvements.
• Represent manufacturing on cross-functional teams and lead lean initiatives.
