Job summary

Subway is seeking a Trainee/Team Member in North End, CT to deliver an exceptional guest experience, help prepare and serve great food, and keep the restaurant clean and inviting. You will assist with inventory, scheduling, and basic safety compliance in a fast-paced setting.

Experience in restaurant operations is preferred, with supervisory capabilities being a plus. The role emphasizes strong communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn while supporting daily promotions and events.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Experience in a restaurant operation, preferably with supervisory experience.
• Must be an excellent communicator with the ability to deal with all levels of team members.
• Physical: Ability to work any area of the restaurant and lift up to 30 pounds.

Job description

As part of the Subway Team, you as a Trainee will focus on seven main things:

• Providing an excellent Guest experience
• Ensuring that great food is prepared & served
• Keeping our restaurants functional, clean and beautiful
• Controlling inventory
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Maintaining standards of restaurant safety and security
• Being a team player

In addition to this role, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Managing a staff of 4-12 including assigning and evaluating work
• Assisting in the planning of special events and promotions in restaurant, coordinating any training needed to make events successful
• Assisting with product ordering and inventory as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: Experience in a restaurant operation, preferably with supervisory experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must be an excellent communicator with the ability to deal with all levels of team members. Computer knowledge is desirable.

Physical

Physical: Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
