• Trains employees on tasks, equipment, and safety; handles complaints and resolves problems with staff and customers; refers to supervisor as needed.
• Fills in for general cleaning staff and operates power equipment; in winter, removes snow from walkways and entrances and spreads ice-melting chemicals when required by contract.

The role assists the Janitorial Supervisor with directing and supervising cleaning crews while also performing janitorial duties, with responsibilities split approximately 50/50 between supervision and cleaning tasks.

What You Will Do

• Cleans hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevator banks, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas; cleans floors using brooms, mops, and powered cleaning machines; polishes metalwork such as fixtures and fittings; washes windows, door panels, and sills; empties wastebaskets; and replenishes janitor closets.
• Assigns tasks and issues supplies and equipment to employees, inspects completed work for conformance to standards, and requisitions supplies and equipment from Supervisor, APM, or PM.
• Trains employees on how to do assigned work and in using equipment and supplies appropriately; addresses complaints and resolves problems of employees and customers; refers to supervisor as deemed necessary.
• Fills in for general cleaning staff as needed and operates power equipment such as two-stage snow blowers. When specified in the contract, during inclement weather, provides proper upkeep by removing snow from walkways, building entrances and dock ramps, and spreading snow/ice melting chemicals.
• Completes and maintains all Didlake required training and is responsible for following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
