Thomson Power Systems in Arlington, Texas is seeking a Lead Wiring Assembler to provide technical leadership for electrical assembly and wiring operations supporting our switchgear and power distribution products.

This role combines hands-on engineering with people development, mentoring Wiring Assemblers, establishing wiring standards, and ensuring products meet engineering specifications and customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 4+ years in electrical assembly or panel wiring.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with crimping, wire routing, labeling, and terminations.
  • Strong coaching, communication, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical resource for wiring operations.
  • Interpret schematics, diagrams, and drawings to guide assembly.
  • Train Wiring Assemblers and develop skill progression.
  • Prioritize production activities and manage daily schedules.
  • Drive safety, quality, and productivity across the team.
  • Lead Kaizen and continuous improvement activities.

Thomson Power Systems is seeking a Lead Wiring Assembler to provide technical leadership for electrical assembly and wiring operations supporting our switchgear and power distribution products.

This role serves as both a technical expert and people developer, helping team members build skills while ensuring exceptional quality and safety performance.

Position Overview

As a Lead Wiring Assembler, you will guide and support wiring and panel assembly operations while mentoring Wiring Assemblers and cross-functional team members.

You will help establish wiring standards, troubleshoot electrical assembly issues, train employees, and ensure products meet engineering specifications and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for wiring operations
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings
  • Support complex wiring and electrical assembly projects
  • Assist team members with troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Ensure compliance with electrical assembly standards
Coaching & Talent Development
  • Train new Wiring Assemblers on wiring methods and standards
  • Teach proper crimping, routing, wire identification, and termination techniques
  • Develop training plans and skill progression guides
  • Support certification and cross-training activities
  • Foster a culture of craftsmanship and continuous learning
Production Leadership
  • Assist with prioritization of production activities
  • Support execution of daily production schedules
  • Coordinate work assignments and resource utilization
  • Escalate issues that impact customer deliveries
  • Drive accountability for safety, quality, and productivity
Quality, Safety & Continuous Improvement
  • Promote error-proofing and right-first-time quality
  • Verify compliance with wiring standards and specifications
  • Lead troubleshooting and corrective action efforts
  • Participate in Kaizen activities and process improvements
  • Support visual management and workplace organization efforts
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of electrical assembly or panel wiring experience
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Experience performing point-to-point wiring
  • Experience with crimping, wire routing, labeling, and electrical terminations
  • Strong coaching, communication, and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior leadership, trainer, or lead assembler experience
  • Experience with switchgear, control panels, or power distribution equipment
  • Familiarity with electrical testing equipment
  • Technical certifications or trade school training
  • Lean Manufacturing experience

Pay

$29-33/hr.
