Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a skilled welder capable of certified multi-process welding to join our Richmond, VA fabrications team. Candidates must read blueprints, prepare joints and perform SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW welding on structural, piping and vessel components.

Qualifications

• Capable of certifying on multi-process tubes and proficient in SMAW, GTAW and GMAW welding.
• Ability to read blueprints and metallurgy to assemble structural forms.
• May require x-ray qualification and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Select type and size of pipe or materials according to specifications.
• Plan layouts, assembly and welding using geometry and metal properties.
• Lay out, align and fit components for welding in various positions.
• Weld components with arc welding methods and inspect bead and weld quality.
• Follow procedure to obtain amperage, voltage, slope and pulse as specified.
